The colossal monument is a tribute to India ‘from the people of Gujarat’ to the leader who placed people’s welfare first. Indian farmers have donated their used farming equipment to collect the iron needed for the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

Symbolising the national, spiritual, historical and academic values, the Statue of Unity has been dedicated to the nation on the 143rd anniversary of Sardar Patel.
