The Bharat Kaam – Ahir Embroidery of Saurashtra is a handicraft and textile signature art tradition of the pastoral community of Saurashtra, Gujarat. The Ahir Embroidery, with its rich designs, has made a notable contribution to the embroidery tradition of India.
A tending cattle clan of Saurashtra, their dowry traditions involve intricate embroidery pieces. The women work on these embroidered pieces for years which signify their marital status and community belonging.
In our endeavour, The Heritage Art hopes to revive this art and bring the glory of its greatness back to help the artists keep alive this ancient art of ours.
