Description
The intricately carved lattice stone windows of the Sidi Saiyyed Mosque, locally known as Sidi Saiyyed ni Jali, is the unofficial symbol of the city of Ahmedabad. Built in 1572 ? 73, it is one of the most famous mosques of Ahmedabad and an iconic landmark of the old walled city.
The logo of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad has been inspired by the latticework, which resembles interwoven trees hanging with lofty braches and extensive detailed carvings of flora.
The Sidi Saiyyed Mosque Mug is an ode to this intricate craftsmanship and the artists for their artwork.
