Description
Manek Burji was the original bastion of Ahmedabad. Built around the foundation stone laid by Ahmed Shah I, this bastion is named after the legendary 15th-century Hindu saint Maneknath.
The Manek Burji once contained a roofed stepwell which bought water to the royal baths. It was later filled when the Sabarmati River changed its course.
