Established on 26th February 2016, GUSEC has played a pivotal role in shaping and nurturing the startup ecosystem of Gujarat. Situated right in the heart of Gujarat University, with an ever-going infrastructure, GUSEC has supported 400+ startups in the past six years. GUSEC, under the aegis of Gujarat University, is establishing the Institution of Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Skills (IIES) to further contribute to the developmental growth of the startup ecosystem. The Heritage Art collaborated with GUSEC to design a handcrafted series of utility gifts and merchandise for their numerous events, meetups and conferences. The idea was to incorporate the thought and philosophy of GUSEC and develop premium giveaways with artistic touch. Along with brand personalization, the focus while designing was to highlight the milestones achieved by GUSEC over the years, the applaudable innovations by their startups and the entire growth-centric culture that’s actually a significant part of GUSEC under the leadership of Mr Rahul Bhagchandani. Providing knowledge and information regarding numerous startups, GUSEC and Gujarat University was the central focus. The personalized souvenirs line designed by THA consists of stationery items, desk pieces, framed art pieces and canvas tote bags. The project involved multiple artists who created handmade sketches and artworks, product designers who brought the enthralling story of GUSEC on surface, and of course, manufacturing partners and dedicated operational team. Being a startup ourselves, we’re extremely overhwlemed to have been associated with GUSEC.
Planner
The GUSEC daily planner is a customized planner highlighting the milestones of the six-year-long journey of GUSEC since its inauguration in February 2016. Twin-wire spiral bind with hardcover, this 6.2″ by 6.2″ square planner is an evergreen gifting item for delegates, clients and employees during meetings, discussions and meet-ups. The GUSEC team envisioned a planner that gave a glimpse of the milestones achieved by the organizations and their efforts to support the startup ecosystem of Gujarat. The design team at The Heritage Art incorporated numerous iconography and typography in the design of the front cover of the planner. The typography and text relate to the idea of startups and innovations. The leaves represent the lush green campus; peacocks are an integral part of the campus life at GUSEC. The calendar icon highlights 26th February as the day when GUSEC was established. The first page of the planner acknowledges the support received by GUSEC from Institutional and Government Organisations. The following few pages of the planner provide a brief overview of GUSEC milestones and their contribution to the public sector. The Planner has three varied page typologies. The ruled pages to jot down the clutter of thoughts running in your mind, the dot-grid to organize your ideas and the plain pages to witness your idea unfurl. A perfect corporate gift for creative minds, for hyperactive minds to pause and reflect or for individuals to write down their thoughts!
GUSEC Desk Calendar
The GUSEC desk calendar showcases a collection of pivotal events and landmarks through a series of hand-painted illustration prints and photographs. Design against a white background, each illustration is supported through a caption detailing its importance in time. The client brief was to design an informative desk calendar which can be gifted during different events, occasions and meet-ups. Providing knowledge and information regarding numerous startups and GUSEC was the main idea. We at The Heritage Art curated a collection of photographs and illustrations. The photo of Gujarat University acknowledges the support and guidance received by GUSEC from its parent university. The old and new buildings of GUSEC are a reflection of their success in the past six years. The illustrated graphics highlight a few of the startups supported by GUSEC. The ‘herSTART’ is an initiative which empowers women entrepreneurs. The desk calendar is double-sided and printed with six calendar pages and two pages for the front and back cover.
